red and white army

the jerseys have been unveiled..

honestly, i'm not really crazy about the red home kit..no revolutionary redesign there...but i really like the white/green european away jersey that Carra's wearing.

and the domestic away kit Xabi's wearing..it's an eye-blindingly bright yellow with a bit of red here and there..gorgeous!!
have to wait till september before they start selling 'em though..and that's for in the UK...not sure when (if it ever does) it'll arrive at our pirate-infested shores.

apples

been having a great time with Eleanor. she's possibly perfect in every way, just like all Apple products.

but i just discovered a bug on the 5G iPod, a little problem with the browsing interface. iLounge explained how to fix it, but this has caused me to lose a certain amount of respect and admiration for Steve Jobs' (soon to be ex?) company..

anyway, you remember those Get A Mac Ads?

the series of ads showing two guys each depicting a mac and a pc respectively. well, the mac guy in those ads was really pompous and this has spawned some spoofs created by pc users (that's like 90% of the computer-using population?). anyway, this one really made me laugh:

the same guys made another two spoof videos, also hosted on youtube.

oh yeah, make sure you see the original Mac ads 1st..(click here to watch 'em)

on another note, Chelski's new jersey looks so fugly!!

and Jose Moaninho cut off all his hair to 'complement' the new jersey..ahah

should have given the same treatment to his tongue though..

anyway, i still think Man U's new home kit tops the league in ugliest new jerseys.

looks so cheap and faded..like they got it from petaling street or something..hahah

anyway, can't wait for Liverpool's new adidas jerseys which will be officially unveiled tomorrow..
i've seen some images of it during the Reds' pre-season friendlies..been really impressed...definitely better than chelski's and MANUre's anyway..=]

i hate thinking of titles for posts

watched Pirates of The Carribean 2..verdict: entertaining overall, but draggy at some parts, Johnny Depp still rocks but I feel the 1st one (as with all other movies) is better.

anyway, my eldest bro just came back from london yesterday..freakin' 4-month long summer break. well, I was happy to see him, and was also happy (maybe even happier? =p) to see this.

I don't have to tell you what it is, the Apple iPod has become so overwhelmingly popular that "iPod" has become the generic term for portable mp3 players.

so, my ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! brother got me a 60gig whitey pod.
it came in this very minimalistic box which exudes oh-so-much-yeng-ness

contents:

i love it love it love it so much that i even named it after my future dog - Eleanor.

music, videos, photos..it does it all...and, it can even be used for err..self-defense:

McSweeney's 8 Ways To Kill Someone By Using An iPod

this one's my hands-down favourite:

5. Dig a pit about 5 feet deep, then take about 15 3-foot-long stakes 2 inches in diameter and sharpen one end to a fine point, like a very sharp pencil. Jam the sticks at least a foot into the ground, with the sharp ends pointing up. Cover the hole with pine boughs, grass, and leaves. Treat the iPod like a slice of cheese pizza in a deep, hot oven and place it gently in the middle.

read here the other 7 ways to kill...far more effective than headbutting someone in the chest i assure you..=]

losing / using his head

what a way to end such an illustrious career...Zizou somehow manages to use his head while losing his head at the same time!

well, according to some "lip-reading specialist" (there's such an occupation?? staring at people's lips all day..how..interesting) it seems Materazzi called Zidane a son of a terrorist whore which led to zizou showing off what enraged old bald men can do.

Materazzi has already admitted insulting zidane but denied calling him a terrorist. in fact, the italian defender accused zizou of insulting him 1st:

"I held his shirt for a few seconds only, then he turned round and spoke to me, sneering," the Italian defender told the newspaper. "He looked me up and down arrogantly, and said: `If you really want my shirt, I'll give it to you afterward."

it's fascinating in a sad way how immature football players can be..
now we've got :

headbutting,

baldies are scary

diving,

Grosso walked to Neill (who was already on the ground) and then decided to go swim in the grass.

playacting,

Rivaldo in the last world cup, behaving like he was just shot...well, he should be after that incident.

and crying on international tv

more like full-on blubbing.

all these un-football like behaviour spawning such games:

headbutt as many italians as you can! =]

anyway, italy are champions

and arguably, deservingly so.

one thing, you know during the penalty shootout, and Andrea Pirlo had his arms wrapped around Cannavaro...well, i think they're gay..

i mean, it's ok if they put their arms on their shoulders and such, but pirlo was practically hugging cannavaro that night.

and to further prove their homosexuality:

see that?
it's a tatoo and it says ANDREA..

GAH!! what has the beautiful game turned into??

The Cup Ends Tonight

amazing how i managed to go through an entire world cup month without so much as a mention of football in this blog..a month when even people who know nuts about football will talk football, play football, watch football, bet football, blog football..

well, the fact is when it comes to football for me, first and foremost, i'm a Liverpool man.

the only international side i'll go crazy about is our Malaysian team when we finally make it to the world cup..now that'll be the day, won't it..
till that happens (hope it happens in my lifetime), i'll never really get that excited about the world cup as a true football fan should be..

anyway, the team i was supporting through this finals, Espana, has already been kicked out early in the 2nd round despite a convincing group stage qualification (as usual). the team that sent them packing, Les Bleus, is in the final tonight so i hope they get a footballing lesson from the Azzurri later on.

and i'll be rooting for Andrea Pirlo later.

one of my favourite freekick takers..ever. alongside Juninho Pernambucano.

Pirlo plays deep in midfield, his style of play alot like Liverpool's very own Xabi Alonso (who totally rocked before spain got KO)..
he's a defensive midfielder who relies on excellent reading of the game to intercept opponents' passes rather than head-on tackle them and then sprays passes all over to initiate his own team's attack..

one of his typically stunning freekicks:
World Cup Qualifier against Scotland

(he scored two freekicks in the same game!)

Goal against Ghana earlier on in this world cup:

how can you possibly not love that?

capable of stunning shots out of nowhere once in a while, another thing i like about him...his hair.

so cool, i want hair like this...wait, it gets better when he runs..

wohoo! forza pirlo, il trascinatore azzurro!

oh yea, and he's adorably short as well..which earned him the nickname Trilli Campanellino, which translates as Tinkerbell..

oh man, if looking at shoes makes eman gay, then what does this pirlo-obssession make me?

just..one...more...

miri schoolgirl bullies

the past couple of weeks of my term break cum world cup holidays have been enjoyably hectic..hah, i calculated, from friday morning till now, out of the last 32 hours i've managed to spend a grand total of 3 hours at home..hahah, the balance was spent hanging out with a friend who's about to leave soon, cc, futsal 1u class dinner, mamak for wcup, sleeping over (erm, ended up not sleeping at all) at yang's place, 5-hr undang course (where i caught up with lost sleep.=p) for my driving license.and supposed to play badminton somemore after i came back...hahah..

anyway, onto the title for this post, you might have seen this article on the front page of the Star several days back. concerning video footage of some secondary school girls in miri bullying another girl..all clad in uniform.

there's been alot of controversy surrounding the malaysian education system recently..the transparency (or rather, lack of it) in awarding of JPA scholarships by the government..the concern over our "brain drain" to foreign countries where our brightest young minds are snapped up by top foreign universities after being mysteriously declined their courses of choice at UM..and now this, actual video evidence of rampant bullying among students..

i've personally witnessed some bully cases when i was back in high school, but fortunately, have never been involved in one. anyway, most people turn a blind eye to this kind of stuff but in actual fact, we know it happens but we just keep quiet as long as it doesn't invovle ourselves...typical m'sian mentality!

here's the video in all it's glory :

in case you don't speak mandarin, the bullies keep asking the same question to the victim, which is: "Did you or did you not tell him?"

UPDATE: Boyfriend talk sparked off attack
